Hi, I’m Erin

I am the mother of 4 teenagers and a dog named Olive, am married to my high school sweetheart, and live in a 120-year-old home in Chicago.

I received a used camera for Christmas in 2012 and was immediately obsessed with taking pictures of my kids in our everyday lives. I had my camera out nonstop and learned everything there was to know about photography after they went to bed for the night. Sometimes I would be up until 2 AM, devouring online photography classes and partaking in a photo community with moms who shared the same passion. I started a business a couple of years later and have never looked back. I run Erin Konrath Photography, which specializes in families, branding, and interior design.

In 2021, I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, and my whole world fell apart for a little while. I am now in remission, but my cancer opened my eyes to the beautiful and amazing gift of my life with my family. When I was sick, I would pour over the old photos of my children I took as they grew up. I am so grateful to have all this documentation of all our everyday moments that now feel like complete magic, especially after my diagnosis and the perspective that that brings. And also because I look at them, all taller than me now and almost ready to fly my nest, and I am just so DAMN THANKFUL to have these photos.

Anyway, I love you, even though I probably don’t know you. I love that you are here and that you are a mom just like me who is interested in learning something new and doing something for her family. I think you are wonderful, and I hope you will join me in this course I have created for you.

 FAQs

  • The lessons in the course are approximately 10 minutes each. Some are a little shorter, some longer. You'll need to sit at your desk with some hot tea or coffee or you can snuggle up on your couch under a blanket. Either way works, but make sure you have a quiet environment to digest the material. And you have to be committed to practicing! But that will not be hard. Because what I am teaching you is just documenting your kids in your everyday lives! So no need to set aside any sort of special time. Just have your iPhone on hand and put what you learned to practice anytime of the day!

  • No fancy camera is needed!! I wrote this course with iPhone users in mind. You are more than welcome to use your DSLR, however it is not a requirement at all!

  • This course is completely self-paced. I recommend digging into the material in the early morning quiet or in the evening after your babes are fast asleep. But you can learn as little or as much as you want in one sitting! This is entirely up to you and your schedule. None of it is live!

  • The cost is $97. It is less than a new pair of jeans. And it will teach you how to photograph beautiful and precious moments that will last a LIFETIME.

  • 10 lessons that speak to your personal journey of motherhood and teach about the fundamentals of good photography. Specifically, an introduction on getting the most out of the course, a lesson on the importance of presence, and then sections on lighting, composition, connection, styling, editing, and print. You will also gain access to a private Facebook Group, called The Course Club, where you will be joined by other similarly like-minded mothers in this amazing journey. I will be offering further support, learning, and challenges in this group also!

  • There will be no refunds on your purchase of this course.
